Iceland Elves?!?

"Surveys suggest that more than half of Icelanders believe in, or at least entertain the possibility 
of the existence of, the Huldufolk - the hidden people. Just to be clear, Icelandic elves are not 

the small, green, pointy-eared variety that help Santa pack the toys at Christmas - they're the

 same size as you and I, they're just invisible to most of us.  

In Icelandic folklore, the Huldufólk (meaning hidden people ) are like elves. These beings are also

 said to be very similar to human beings, and live in little houses in the rocks. Although the 

Huldufólk are usually hidden from the view of people, some humans are believed to be privileged

 enough to see them. There are many stories of encounters with the Huldufólk.
